The team at Moorcroft have been retraining and rehabilitating ex-racehorses here at the centre very successfully since 2006 so you will agree that there is a depth of experience here in that very important and much needed role. It is remarkable sometimes how much can be achieved with good training, imaginative and experienced Veterinary intervention, good physiotherapy and the very best of care.
We are passionate about giving these lovely horses a new life after their racing career has come to an end and we believe them to be very versatile, happy and giving animals that want to do other things and can. We have successfully re-homed many ex-racehorses all over the UK and we continue to visit them regularly and support and help in many ways. We have many people on our books waiting patiently to re-home an ex-racehorse.
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and Retraining of Racehorses (ROR) do not fund us anymore, but we have a very good deal to offer all Racehorse Trainers, ex-racehorse owners, members of Racehorse Owners Association (ROA), or anyone who has found themselves with an ex-racehorse that they do not feel they wish to retrain themselves.
Please ring Mary for help and for advice on your particular requirements. We get at least 2 phone calls per day to re-home these horses so there are many good homes out here that will come our way to give these lovely horses a good future. We visit them every year at least once for the rest of their lives and support them in any way that we can.
