Here at the centre, we want to make sure that we can turn Lockdown into a very positive experience for us all and especially our horses and our knowledge and our ability to help them in every way that we can. Competing may have to wait for a while and even travelling to lessons maybe on hold but your learning time and adding to your horses experiences does not have to stop.
With that in mind we would like to share with you some of the skills that you yourselves can develop to deepen your knowledge, your relationship with your horses and your own ability to develop a better musculature and strength within your horse.
Obviously, all proceeds from our courses go to helping the horses in need at the centre. More coming soon.
There is also a brand new book that you can purchase which may assist you with your training for you and your horse - for more information please see our BOOKS page.
All online courses and their material are owned by Moorcroft and subject to Copyright.
Learning to Long Rein - Online Course
This course gives you very clear and easy to undertake instructions with close up pictures to explain the very useful art of long-reining. It starts from the tack that should be used and walks you through very clearly how to teach yourself and a young horse that has never long-reined before. It focuses on the importance and usefulness of this skill and it emphasises safety for all.
Revisit this course regularly as you perfect each stage and become more skilful at helping your horse. It includes how to long-rein over a fence once both horse and trainer are very adept at all aspects of this skill.
Make use of this time in Lockdown for your horse and turn it in to a positive experience by both of you learning a very rehabilitative skill that you will have forever.
Please call the centre for further help or advice.
All proceeds from this course will go to help the horses at the charity. Thank you for your support.
How it works
When you have added your course to the cart and gone through the checkout process, you will see the file available to download on the screen. You will also be emailed a link that you can download. It's then yours to keep and you can refer back to the course at any time.
